Job Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
Financial Planning
1. Plan for product availability at optimal inventory levels
2. Review sales performance
3. Monitor status of receivable, cash flow management, develop cash earnings ratio
4. Liaise with partners and modify production plans accordingly
5. Interact with bankers for competitive rate of interest, analyse long term financial projections for the company and arrive at a financing structure for Novo Nordisk in order to sustain financial stability of Novo Nordisk and ensure optimum utilization of resources
Tax Planning
1. Handle withholding and corporate taxation.
2. Submit tax questionnaire
3. Ensure submission of Tax returns and VAT returns
4. Plan taxation and liaison with tax consultant regarding tax assessment.
Business Planning
1. Analyse industry information, prepare and submit medium term alternate financial plans
2. Jointly decide on medium term business action plans, financial viabilities of new investments, pricing changes with HO
3. Prepare annual budget and seek approval
4. Jointly rationalize sales and investment plans based on approved financial budgets
5. Monitor progress against plans
6. Take corrective actions to ensure profitable growth for Novo Nordisk Bangladesh
Accounting
1. Monitor accounts and transactions on a monthly basis
2. Identify critical issues of non-conformities
3. Supervise timely reconciliations
4. Drive implementation of financial policies in Novo Nordisk as per parent company standards
5. Liaise with auditors and close open issues to ensure updated accounting practices
Procurement
1. Ensure negotiating with the suppliers tactfully.
2. Generate sourcing savings.
3. Acting as a Risk Coordinator for Risk Management withholding and corporate taxation.
4. Implement the best practice of business process to have efficient business processes
Local Manufacturing
1. Follow up and deal with the local manufacturer
2. Analyse the raw material requirements and pricing of the same
3. Inventory management for the production, stock report, decide on inventory norms and finalize ordering of finished products
4. Address queries of customs authorities and monitor compliance to set norms
5. Monitor inventory levels of local manufacturers’ raw materials and coordinate with parent company for timely and adequate supplies to ensure uninterrupted production at partner’s manufacturing facility
Supply Chain
1. Manage the supply chain function
2. Calculating and uploading and follow up of orders, follow up imports and stock.
3. Follow up with the distributor, independent importer or purchaser and local manufacturers to ensure uninterrupted supply of products.
4. Liaise with C&F agents for customs clearance and transfer to central warehouse,
Distribution Management
1. Follow negotiate commercial terms related to distribution with respective partners
2. Obtain territory level sales forecasts, plan for supply and distribution accordingly
3. Handle emergency requirements of products
4. Communication with the distributor on different relevant issues
5. Prepare MIS on realizations, expiries, receivables, bad debts, approve credit limits of chemists to ensure timely available of products at point of sale
People Management
1. Set targets and communicate expected standards
2. Identify training needs and nominate team members for training programs to ensure performance driven work environment
3. Reward and retain high performers
Additional Information
Purpose of the Job
As the Head of Finance & Operations of Novo Nordisk Bangladesh you will drive finance and operations strategies for the Bangladesh affiliate as per business need and in line with directions from the regional office. Your role will be instrumental in maintaining strong professional relationship with key external stakeholders, ensuring seamless supply of life saving medicine, and managing local manufacturing activities. You will also ensure that functions in the Affiliate understand and follow standards and processes which are constantly updated in response to changes in regulations, laws and industry (or other) trends that may impact the business and are often challenged and scrutinized by authorities.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual Salary (including festival bonus): BDT 17,500,000 (Approx)

Special Instruction
Qualifications & Experience
BSc in Accounting or/with. Post graduation in Business Studies preferred.
Minimum 15 years of experience in a large company with global outlook in pharmaceutical domain in particular. Demonstrated experience with P&L responsibility and current experience as a people manager.
A multitasker with an extensive experience of leading and handling Finance, Accounting, global & local compliance, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement and Business Development.
Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical regulation and business transactions in the Southeast Asian Market.
High performing individual who is highly skilled in stakeholder management and can communicate with impact.
Understanding and knowledge of systems (SAP R/3), CONCUR, ICE, CMS, and data warehouse systems (BW)
Excellent communication skills. Active listening; interpersonal skills; sound judgment and decision making
Strong proven ability to act as a change agent within the organization
Strong personal and professional ethical values, integrity and the energy level required to meet the demands of the position
