OFFICE SUPPORT CUM MESSENGER
Duty Station: WHO Ban IVD DC offices, in all divisional HQ
Contract Duration: 2 years

Reporting Line: IVD NPO-Divisional Coordinator, NPO-Operations at WCO level.
A. Background
Since 2002 BAN-IVD has been operating its program assisting government counterparts in establishing a separate divisional office at each division headed by a Divisional Coordinator and Surveillance Medical Officers at the government premises of the Civil Surgeon Office. One Project Facilitator (PF) had also been placed for secretarial support at each division office for the smooth operation of program activities. Other than PFs responsibilities archiving program documents, banking, courier, logistics distribution to SIMOs and government counterparts and office maintenance are the major responsibilities that require an additional workforce at each division office.
Job Responsibilities
B. Major Responsibilities
With the recommendation of Division Coordinators and duly assessed by NPO-Operation, each division office may coordinate recruit a messenger/peon locally with the following terms of reference—
1. Provide messenger & cleaning, maintenance of office equipment and Furniture service
of WHO divisional office.
2. Organize and archive program documents, and maintain purchase inventory as directed
by PF/DC
3. Collect and send courier, maintain out-going & in-coming register.
4. Support PF in organizing SIMOs bi-monthly meeting/DC meeting in terms of arranging
snacks, lunch, and stationaries
5. Support PF in banking, buying logistics, and Office equipment use & maintenance,
repairing including IT items of division/SIMO office as required and assist in filing papers
and retrieving files;
6. Distribution of program logistics (Surveillance report forms, VTMs, swab sticks etc.) as
directed by PF/DC
7. Entertain visitors in division office as suggested by PF/DC;
8. Assist in duplication/photo copying, collation and distribution of reports, documents,
correspondences, etc;
9. Pack material received for dispatch, affix labels, insert materials in envelopes and date
stamps;
10. Take immediate measures for fire extinguishing in accordance with the instructions on
the subject in case of any emergency; and
11. Prepare tea and serve to the staff members and visitor’s as and when require;
12. Any other task assigned by the Supervisor.

C. Required Qualifications:
Education:
Minimum class 8 level, SSC will be an asset.
Experience:
Minimum 05 years of work experience out of which at least 2 years working with a Development Organization in the field of Health services. Working with WHO or UN offices will be an asset.
Computer Literacy :
Working knowledge of computer application software: MS – Office (World, Excel, PowerPoint) and Knowledge about handling electronic devices like Computer, Tab.
Compensation and Other Benefits
D. Remuneration:
Monthly salary: The Messenger will take-home BDT 22,500 for first Year 2024, BDT 24,131 from Second year.
