Job Responsibilities

A. Scope of services

  1. Liaison with VBD and NMEP, DGHS, Local government and other relevant stake holders
  2. Assist to collect entomological data from relevant stakeholders
  3. Establish entomological data reporting mechanisms for timely dissemination to health authorities and relevant stakeholders
  4. Collaborate with public health teams to link entomological data with health outcomes (e.g., disease incidence) and determine correlations between vector populations and disease outbreaks
  5. Develop entomological monitoring protocols that align with EWARS dashboard
  6. Provide recommendations for control measures, such as insecticide spraying, larviciding, and environmental management, based on data
  7. Provide training and technical support to national and local teams on entomological surveillance techniques and the integration of entomological data into dashboard
  8. Assist to develop educational materials for communities on vector control and disease prevention
  9. Analyze trends in vector data and collaborate with epidemiologists to interpret how vector presence correlates with disease transmission patterns
  10. Prepare detailed reports on the findings of entomological surveys, including species identification, vector population trends, and recommendations for action.
  11. Define entomological thresholds that could trigger early warnings for potential vector-borne disease outbreaks within the EWARS framework.
  12. Integrate these triggers into the broader EWARS protocols
  13. Final report preparation on the integration of entomological data into EWARS dashboard including lessons learned, challenges, and recommendations for future action
  14. Regular progress reports on entomological surveillance activities and any emerging trends
  15. To perform other duties or tasks assigned by Director IEDCR

Compensation and Other Benefits

B. Payment

Monthly salary will be BD Tk. 1,38,000/= (BD-Taka One Lakh Thirty-Eight Thousand) 

C.     Qualification requirement

A Master’s degree or higher in Entomology/ Medical Entomology or a related field.

D.    Experience:

a.       At least 5 years of experience working as an entomologist, with a focus on vector borne diseases and surveillance.

b.      Experience in setting up or contributing to vector surveillance programs or early warning systems.

c.       Familiarity with the epidemiology of vector-borne diseases and their transmission dynamics.

d.      Experience working with public health systems and interdisciplinary teams.

 

Age limit: <40 years (in case of experience it might be relaxed)
