Job Responsibilities

A. Scope of services

 IT officer’s job will be contractual. Responsible to setup an upgraded and coordinated networking system among IEDCR, meteorology department and other sentinel sites, setup EWARS dashboard and DHIS2 software interface for regular reporting to provide climate sensitive disease-specific information, coordination of training for concerned personnel including doctors, nurses and lab technicians, analyze project data & reporting. His Terms of References are following:

  1. Responsible to setup an upgraded and coordinated networking system among IEDCR, metrology offices and specified sentinel sites
  2. Prepare an EWARS dashboard, required apps to be linked with DHIS2 software and other reporting system
  3. Establish a network of data sharing among IEDCR, metrology offices and other sentinel site laboratories.
  4. Setup EWARS dashboard and DHIS2 interface for regular reporting to provide specified climate sensitive disease surveillances   information that is requested as part of the reporting requirements of the network.
  5. Develop or incorporate software or apps as per requirement to support early warning system
  6.  Coordinate and arrange for training for concerned personnel including doctors, nurses and lab technicians
  7. Analyze reports from all sentinel sites
  8. Support to define climate sensitive disease thresholds that could trigger early warnings for potential outbreaks within the EWARS framework
  9. Technical support to implement and maintenance of risk prediction tools from WHO
  10. Give technical support for trouble shooting for IEDCR surveillance related activities
  11. As needed s/he will visit to surveillance sites for any trouble shooting.
  12. Regular epidemiology and laboratory data compilation
  13. Regular climate sensitive disease (dengue, rota-virus & cholera/diarrhea etc) surveillance data compilation, analysis and reporting
  14. Synchronization of both epidemiological and laboratory data at EWARS dashboard and DHIS2 or at any specified software/apps
  15. Uploading to the IEDCR website
  16. Support for preparing and uploading any epidemiological bulletin
  17. Support to IEDCR IT department
  18. Report preparation on activities, lessons learned, challenges, and recommendations for future action
  19. To perform other duties or tasks assigned by Director IEDCR

Compensation and Other Benefits

B. Payment

The IT Officer will get BD Tk. 1, 38, 000 BDT /= (BD-Taka One Lakh Thirty-Eight Thousand)

C. Qualifications

B. Sc. in Computer Science or Computer Science and Engineering with good academic background preferably M. Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering.

D. Experience

At least 3 years’ experience preferably in research or public health sector

Age Limit : <40 years (in case of experience it might be relaxed)
